Storm bearing down on Hosterman. Blackening the sky like an approaching tempest, Meadow River Heisler #6 storms down the old C&O Greenbrier main at Hosterman, WV (MP 88.2), past the lily pad-covered pools of the Allegheny Run, on her way south to Cass with some freight loads for interchange.
This 90-ton, 3-trucker is now owned by the State of West Virginia, as part of the Cass Scenic Railroad collection. This image was captured in the little hamlet of Hosterman, WV, on a May, 2021 Lerro Photography photo shoot.
Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.
