On January 21, 1989, Illinois Central’s SCMI freight, operating from Chicago to Memphis, Tennessee, passes over the interlocking at Tolono, Illinois, where the IC main line crosses the Norfolk & Western (Norfolk Southern) main line between Danville and Decatur. Someone dressed in a tie on the lead locomotive is taking a picture of us!
