Heritage Joins The Party. What better way to celebrate Independence Day than to have a party with friends? Invite a nice heritage unit to stop by of course! On July 4, 2021, maroon/grey heritage (script lettering) CP 7013 (SD70ACu, née-CP 9126, SD9043MAC) made the sunset run down the Conrail Shared Assets National Docks Line by Gateway Field in Jersey City, NJ leading CSX K634-02. Joining the recently rebuilt and rare solo lead EMD was a heritage bonus buffer car, CP 384780 (Cyl. Cov. Hopper, 4550 cu. ft., 10/1981 in service). The conductor waved to the group on ballfield as dark was setting in and fireworks displays would soon begin across the region.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
