CSX X701 hauls an empty unit garbage train through the city of Yonkers along Metro-North's Hudson Line on the afternoon of July 12th, 2021. Offering a nice backdrop is the historic 1903 Renaissance Revival style built Yonkers Trolley Barn and the North Yonkers Pump Station tower, made to resemble a lighthouse which was constructed in 1876.
The train is bound for Waste Management's Harlem River Yard Transfer Station and Oak Point Yard where the cars will be loaded with New York City's largest export, trash. Freight runs daily on the Hudson Line, but seldom during the daytime hours.
