Racing across the Mojave Desert in 107ºF (41.67ºC) heat is BNSF Railway train Q-NYCLAC6-08L, running nearly 84 hours behind schedule (thanks to a derailment in Missouri), with an all-Norfolk Southern power consist. This is a BNSF Guaranteed Service Intermodal, which originated in New York NY and is bound for Los Angeles CA. Norfolk Southern’s "Lehigh Valley Heritage" unit, ES44AC 8104 (coupled to NS ES44DC 7589), leads the train, and the Bristol Mountains provide an impressive backdrop - a bit different then the western New York, eastern Pennsylvania and northern
