Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority operates heavy-rail, light-rail, subway and bus service in the Boston area. Three heavy-rail lines are color-coded (Blue, Orange and Red), as is their light-rail line (Green). The MBTA’s Green Line has four branches, designated B, C, D and E. (The A Branch is abandoned.) The Green Line, with tunnel sections dating from 1897, is the oldest light rail line in North America, and is the second most heavily used light rail system in the country. MBTA Type 7 light rail vehicle 3615, built in the mid- to late-1980s, makes a stop at the E Branch’s Museum of Fine Arts Stop. The E Branch of the Green Line operates from downtown Boston’s South Station to Heath Street. (Boston, Massachusetts – September 21, 2016)
The MBTA is very dear to me. The first trains I ever rode as a toddle to teenager were those of the "T" Here is a collection of MBTA Subway and trolley I have found on RP from the 60's thru today.
