Amtrak #6 has dropped below the blizzard blowing around Soldier Summit and is now passing Kyune with its center siding. Nearby Highway US 6 has a mile long backup over the summit but #6 just blew by the highway jam. It must have encountered some drifts across the tracks in the canyon above Kyune which covered the window in front of the engineer with snow. Today’s #6 is powered by two Amtrak Heritage Units; #42, the Veterans Unit is in the lead, and #156, the Phase 1 Heritage Unit is second out. I was standing in hip-deep snow for this shot and the paved, Emma Park road in front of me was closed by deep drifts. Normally, I would go home from here; east through Emma Park to Hwy. 191 and then left. Go up and over 9200' Indian Summit into the Uinta Basin and ultimately home. Around 85 miles from here. Today, I continued down Price River Canyon taking more pictures which I have posted here previously
