Remarks & Notes
Quite a few steam locomotive enthusiasts refer to the Bavarian four-cylinder express trains locomotive S 3/6 as the most beautiful machines ever built. The 4-6-2 locomotive # 3673 was built in 1918 in the series "S 3/6 i" by J.A.Maffei for the "Königlich Bayerische Staatsbahn" and got the number 18 # 478 of the Deutsche Reichsbahn. The locomotive, now owned and operated by Bayerisches Eisenbahnmuseum Nördlingen (BEM) is tackling the grade of the Schiefe Ebene between Neuenmarkt-Wirsberg and Marktschorgast with a 8 car train of the IGE. In the rear was 01 # 202 shoving.
