Remarks & Notes |
Two Budd Slumbercoaches sit together creating a mirror-like illusion. Former Amtrak 2088 (former Northern Pacific, with ghosts of original lettering visible on the name plate) and 2093 (originally B&O and later Northern Pacific) are used as parts sources to keep the Grand Canyon Railway's healthy fleet of active Budd cars rolling. These cars spent decades employed by Amtrak as an economy "private room" offering on eastern long distance trains, and were retired in 1996 with the arrival of the Viewliner I fleet.
