The second sold out excursion of the day heads south behind Nickle Plate Road's 765 through the scenic landscape of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. While not as breathtaking perhaps as the Grand Tetons, Glacier National Park, or Yellowstone, the rural beauty of the Cuyahoga Valley is very unique, and the immense number of green-leaf trees makes this park an incredible place to visit in October when the leaves turn. The national park also has a rich Native American history and the Erie and Ohio Canal ran right through it's acres. The remains of the large lock structures can still be seen along the Towpath Trail -- a hike and bike trail running along the former route the canal took through the landscape.
