| A BNSF local works the storage facility in Springfield known as The Springfield Underground. This giant underground storage facility was once a limestone mine. The extra space (being in caves) made for an excellent storage area, with a naturally cool temperature. It was converted to such and is now serviced by truck and rail. BNSF tends to make this run every week day and at this particular time was using ex-BN unit number 1915 as its leader. |
