I am just about to run out of daylight when I finally catch a southbound freight coming under the 10th Street bridge behind an ex-L&N SD40-2 (delivered in May 1980). The NS crossing is interlocked, but just beyond NS is the manual switch for the passing track, so a crew member prepares to drop off 8100 and line the train off the main.
