The Blue Leader. As Reading & Northern continues to paint its fleet in its new schemes, it makes for a snapshot in time on the railroad during this phase of transition. On Thursday, November 4, 2021, NRFF (North Reading Fast Freight) passes the Penobscot Yard Office with the 155.2S signal bridge in the background, RBMN SD50-2 5021 (ex-CSX 8606, née-SBD 8606 SD50, EMD, 1/1985) leading. The unit is painted in a temporary all blue scheme that was used to cover its previous CSX paint so it could be used in service, and is planned to join the other SD50-2s in the NRFF scheme as time permits.
