With the first favourable weather forecast in about a week falling on a Sunday there weren't an awful lot of options for something interesting to point my camera at.
35028 'Clan Line' was booked on a special Charity trip (originally booked with Tornado, which was unavailable) around the Kent Coast with the British Pullman set so I thought I would head down to Folkestone to try the shot under the cliffs that had been on my 'bucket list' for some while.
Driving down the weather was far from the full sun conditions that had been forecast and I very much thought the entire endeavour would be in vein.
Finally in location the clouds had managed to stay away and shortly before the train was due a faint rainbow dropped into the English Channel- wouldn't it be great if that was around for the train... Fortunately the rainbow intensified and 'Clan Line' popped out from the tunnel right on time, just ahead of the encroaching rain which began almost as soon as the tail light had passed.
Amazingly it was only myself and a young lad with his Grandma in tow that were there to watch the spectacle.
For the train and storm chaser. Trains with thunderstorms, dark clouds, rain, lightning, hurricanes - tropical storms, funnel clouds, storm light, rainbows, and snow storms.
