Remarks & Notes |
ZAP! After a lot of patience, I captured a good sized arc, or the visible discharge of electricity between the catenary wire and pantograph's carbon strips. At high speeds, some arcing is normal when the pantograph makes a slight bounce. It happens so quickly and is so bright all you normally see is a blueish-white flash, but this photo reveals several smaller trails of amber extending out from the flash. Wild! |
