Following an extended tour of the Russell, Kentucky yard facilities on November 16, the CSXT P00115 executive business train rolls eastbound through Ashland, Kentucky, with the trio of B&O-heritage inspired F40s leading the train along the Ohio River. The train is passing the 1906 Chesapeake & Ohio Railway freight depot as it passes beneath the 12th and 13th Street bridges. On the opposite side of the Ohio River, a Norfolk Southern train makes its way westbound.
CSX has diverse passenger operations that include office car specials, trips to major events like the Kentucky Derby, track geometry trains and the annual Santa Claus train over the northern section of the fallen flag Clinchfield Railroad.
