| US Sugar #148 poses next to the Santa Train in Lake Placid. This depot was built in 1927 for the Atlantic Coast Line. The town was a winter residence for members of the Lake Placid club in New York, who pushed to have the depot built here. Passenger service was discontinued in the 1960s and the depot closed in 1975, but was preserved thanks to the Lake Placid Historical Society. Today, it houses a local history museum. |
