The Beer Railroad: Digging through old photos, it seems that in my youth, I spent lots of time at the "Manny", which was owned by the Anheuser-Busch brewery in South St. Louis. MRS was a neat little industrial operation with a rich history. Late on a winter evening, the evening switch crew hops on the 257, a former Illinois Terminal unit, and heads off to work the yard. 254 and 252 were parked after returning on the afternoon transfer to the Alton & Southern. both MP15DC's were purchased new by the railroad and ushered in the beginning of the end for the fleet of ALCO's.
