In the signalbox of Kijabe station on 2203 meter a.s.l., on the 1 meter gauge line between Nairobi and Naivasha, dating back to the time of the East African Railways and Harbours Corporation (EAR&H). Unfortunately, this line was discontinued and demolished in 2020, replaced by a new standard gauge line down in the valley, built by Kenya Railways Corporation with China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) being the primary contractor, as a continuation of the new Mombasa - Nairobi line opened in 2017.
