The Beer Railroad: Digging through old photos, it seems that in my youth, I spent lots of time at the "Manny", which was owned by the Anheuser-Busch brewery in South St. Louis. MRS was a neat little industrial operation with a rich history. Seen from the parking lot of the yard office, MRS 257 idles on the other side of the lower brewery yard. The storage boxcar had just been painted into company colors, a few weeks before, and the railroads history as a loyal ALCO customer is evident in the resident shop trucks, a pair of "Blunt" trucks, no doubt that once lived under an ALCO S-2.
