The Beer Railroad: Digging through old photos, it seems that in my youth, I spent lots of time at the "Manny", which was owned by the Anheuser-Busch brewery in South St. Louis. MRS was a neat little industrial operation with a rich history. MRS 254 pulls a TRRA SW1500 out of the yard, no doubt heading to the engine house for some maintence. 254, one of the railroads 3 MP15DC's, purchased new in 1983. Intended originally to be road transfer units, these may be the only MP15DC's ordered with Blomberg "M" trucks which featured shock absorbers, rubber blocks in lieu of leaf springs, and inner brake shoes (with a single brake cylinder) only, instead of full clasp style on Blomberg "B" trucks.
