Not A Photo Freight. On December 30, 2016, Strasburg Rail Road #90 (ex-Great Western Railway of Colorado #90, 2-10-0, Baldwin, 1924) was called in to pinch hit for the railroad’s ailing diesel fleet and made the trip to Leaman Place in Paradise, Pennsylvania, the interchange with Norfolk Southern. In addition to a the thriving passenger train service, Strasburg has significantly increased its freight traffic in recent years. Always a friendly place to visit, the staff even added coach #70 (Cherry Crest) to the consist for those that wanted to ride the early morning trip, and held job briefing for photographers in attendance so that everyone would know the moves to safely plan their shots.
