Doubledeck commuter train DPZ+ of the SBB, running as S 12 service 19265 from Brugg AG via Zürich-Winterthur to Schaffhausen, is crossing the 177 meter long bridge over the rhine, built in 1856, between the stop of Schloss Laufen am Rheinfall (right, below the church) to Neuhausen (left). In this moment, about 400 m3 of water are falling down the Rhine falls in one second (105'000 gallons per second). The striking rock island in the middle of the Rhine Falls is approached by motorboats during the day, and a walk up the steep steps to the top is a highlight of any visit.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
