Just south of Union Station is Amtrak’s 16th Street Engine Facility, where the carrier’s locomotives and cars get serviced and receive light repairs. We see Amtrak Non-Powered Control Unit (NPCU) 90200 – the former F40PH 200 (built in March 1976 and was converted into an unpowered cab car/baggage car [NPCU] twenty-two years later, in March 1998), which – with Amtrak P42DC 63 (built in February 1997) adjacent to it.
