For the third time in less than 12 months, CSXT has sent a geometry train to inspect the tracks in and around Tampa Bay. This, combined with the extensive inspection with the OCS in the same time frame, is raising questions. Today, TGC3 is heading all the way thru to the end of their territory in Oneco where SGLR takes over. The bridge tender here also controls the spans for Manatee & Little Manatee Rivers. Sooner or later it is said #9969 will be painted to match the cars it pulls.
CSX has diverse passenger operations that include office car specials, trips to major events like the Kentucky Derby, track geometry trains and the annual Santa Claus train over the northern section of the fallen flag Clinchfield Railroad.
