Tennessee Treasure: One of the highlights of 2021 for the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum was their acquisition of one of the most significant unpreserved diesels remaining in the US - TVA H16-66 #F3060. This Fairbanks-Morse locomotive is a rare gem indeed - it is the last road-size locomotive from that company to survive into the modern day here in the States, and one of only a small handful that remain at all (Canada has an H16-66, an H24-66, and two C-Liners; Mexico is rumored to still have one H16-44). After decades of storage in the mountains near Nashville at the TVA plant in Gallatin, it made a triumphant arrival at the TVRM late last year. It is clearly in need of some time and attention, but it still looks pretty good, all things considered.
