Barn. On the very early morning of Februrary 28, 2021, Canadian Pacific/CMQ 9020 (SD40-2F) sits in front the former passenger station in Jackman, Maine with Train 251 awaiting its recrew. The term "barn" describes this class of Canadian built GMD SD40-2s in a cowl unit full-width body. Of 25 built, 10 were purchased by CMQ, and the other 15 have been retired or scrapped by CP. The subsequent re-purchase of CMQ by CP brought these 10 back on to the CP Roster. A robust power set including trailing units CP 6024 (SD40-2), CMQ 9011 (SD40-2F), CP 2318 (GP20C- ECO) and CMQ/LTEX 3817 (GP38-3) awaits its departure in the snow.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
