With downtown Los Angeles looming in the background, BNSF Railway train S-LPCLHG1-31 crosses Washington Boulevard as it transitions from BNSF’s San Bernardino Sub to the Alameda Corridor, a 20-mile (32 km) freight rail "expressway," primarily in a trench below grade parallel to Alameda Street, owned by the Alameda Corridor Transportation Authority, the northern end of which begins near the signal bridge in the distance, to complete its journey from Logistics Park in Chicago to Los Angeles Harbor’s Global Gateway South terminal. This 85 car, 8,017-foot train has BNSF ES44C4 7950, Dash 8-44CW 5375 and ES44DC 7520 on the headend, and Canadian Pacific ES44AC 8849 and BNSF ES44DC 7620 as the rear Distributed Power Units.
