Pan Down. Due to anticipated significant snowfall the previous night and the day of Thursday, December 17, 2020, few Amtrak trains were operated on the New York Penn-Boston South Station portion of the Northeast Corridor Line. Those that did run, like Amtrak Regional Train 170, used both an ACS-64 (619) and P42DC (90), seen here passing the former New York, Westchester, and Boston Railroad tower in the Oak Point section of the Bronx, New York. The diesel powers the train while the electric motor has the proper PTC related equipment for operation on the NECL.
