MILW 585 and 68C back their train east from their downtown Eau Claire yard onto C&NW's eastbound main track near Eau Claire tower. Once on C&NW, the train will head west to St. Paul Pig's Eye Yard as a detour. By the later 1970s this had become permanent trackage rights. This replaced their own branchline to Trevino, WI & Winona, MN.
