Pennsy And "New" Pennsy. When the Pennsylvania Railroad ordered the "Metroliners" from Budd in 1966, it's unlikely anyone imagined that they would still be in service, though heavily modified, 55 years later. NJ Transit 4636 (ALP46A) had a Pennsylvania Railroad heritage wrap applied for NJT's 40th anniversary celebration. It sits next to Amtrak 9647, now a Metroliner Cab Car used in Keystone Service, in Sunnyside Yard in Long Island City, New York on the afternoon of Monday, February 7, 2022 awaiting the next call to service.
