CTrail train 6401 is about to duck under Willard Ave (Route 173), as a bus stops at Newington Junction Station, on the CTfastrak rapid transit system. This junction is where the New Haven Railroad (originally the Hartford, Providence, & Fishkill Railroad) split off to New Britain. The 1890 freight depot is seen on the right. The passenger station, which stood across from the depot, was moved and restored a few hundred feet from its original location when the busway system was built.
