3007 leads three other ALCO/MLW locomotives and four loaded lumber center beams into Cresco where the cars will be dropped for unloading. The power will then return west light later in the afternoon.
3007 still wears a special paint scheme that was applied while the unit was under General Electric (GECX) ownership. The GECX markings have been painted over and the cab patched but other than that the unique scheme remains, much to the delight of area railfans.
Of additiona interest is that this unit had been rebuilt by GE with the same prime mover and electronics found in the popular "Super 7" locomotives. |
