Remarks & Notes |
Just Another Day In The Neighborhood. Snowfall from a recent storm still coated the ground small hamlet of Shushan, New York in Washington County on the morning of March 5, 2018. The Batten Kill Railroad's veteran Alco RS-3 was bringing a string of cars from Salem to Eagle Bridge, New York when it crossed Railroad Avenue. This engine was built for the Delaware & Hudson in 1952 and wears a Greenwich and Johnsonville tribute scheme representing the line's original operator. The railroad crossing sign in front of the train in the shape of a diamond is a similarly vintage but active piece of the railroad.
