Norfolk Southern 1006 leads NS V24, the Richmond-West Point (and return) local into Richmond, Virginia in the mid-day hours of March 6th, 2022. The Richmond skyline can be seen in the background, along with a CSX coal train on the C&O trestle flanking the side of the James River. To the right are the bridge abutments for the old Richmond & Danville Railroad, burnt out and destroyed during the Civil War. It was the very same bridge that Confederate president Jefferson Davis used to flee the city of Richmond at the end of the Civil War.
