MP 3165, a non-dynamic brake SD40-2 showed up at Albina Yard, Portland, OR in run-through/mileage equalization. Five years later in 1982 UP would react to the BN-Frisco merger (1980) by merging with MP. UP had acquired WP in 1980 as well, changing their long standing relationship with SP dating back to 1869.
