Steamscape: An active East Ely Yard. Even at mid-day, the Nevada Northern Railway's East Ely Yard is still abuzz with activity as Consolidation #81 steams in front of the engine house, being prepared for work on an afternoon mixed freight. On a distant engine house lead, wrecking crews work to emplace the railroad's 100-ton steam crane to deal with a hopper that ended up on the ground as trains were being made up earlier in the day. With multiple trains of empty hoppers due back from the smelters at McGill by late afternoon, the pressure is mounting for the crew to clear the mess and repair the track in the next couple of hours.
