Remarks & Notes |
What looks like a Union Pacific train from the 1980's is actually an Alton & Southern transfer job. The A&S "102" typically runs a turn between Gateway Yard and UP's 12th Street Yard in St. Louis. Biggest traffic on this transfer are carloads of lime from St. Genevieve, MO. The amount of loads can be heavy which requires the use of the trio of SD60's to climb up and over the MacArthur Bridge. 102 is shown on the Illinois side easing down the long approach trestle off the bridge with the skyline of St. Louis in the background. |
