| The 3 GE's on this Charles City loaded ethanol train have their hands full to get the 102 loads up this 1.4% grade. Here the screeching of wheel slip breaks the morning silence of cows grazing. Over the next 25 minutes the man vs gravity show will go on to get this train up and into Calmar 5 miles ahead. Traffic was mainly at night while we camped here, but lucky 3 of the 8 trains that ran in 48 hours came in daylight.
Taken on private property, with permission, watching out for cattle. |
