It’s springtime in Wisconsin and its finally starting to green up—a little, anyway—on April 16, 1997. Wisconsin Central has a quartet of EMD 20-cylinder locomotives rumbling on the front of the train 51 at Colgate. On the lead is WC’s only FP45, No. 6652, followed by F45 No. 6656, SD45 No. 6603 and F45 6651, all former Santa Fe. Three out of four being cowls isn’t bad…
