A Galesburg, IL, to Grand Forks, ND, freight train rolls along the Mississippi River. The train has just passed Lock and Dam #9 couple miles south of Lynxville and crosses the Leitner Creek. Alot of the back waters were full of birds taking advantage of the open water. In that mix is a Tundra Swan. The Tundra Swan migrates from Alaska/Northern Canadian to the east coast in the fall, and back northwest in the spring. They are becoming a popular bird watching event along the Upper Mississippi River. I haven't seen one around here before so we took full advantage since it didn't seem to mind us taking pictures or the trains.
