The Monday's rock train out of Dell Rapids started pulling around 7:45 am from the East Pit. Here the job pull down to the West Pit to pickup the rest of the loads before heading towards Sioux City. Its kind of neat how the the Sioux River cut right thru the rock as seen alittle bit around the bridge.
The D&I is owned by L.G. Everist Inc. out of Sioux Falls. The L.G. Everist has been in business since 1876. Their Dell Rapids operation features an east and west quarry, that can process quartzite concrete aggregates, asphalt aggregates, seal coat, erosion stone, riprap, deco stone, base aggregates, according to their website. The DAIR operates 1 train in and out Dell Rapids 5 days a week traditionally during the summertime back in 2021. One of the new additions is on the point, #3024, ex-CP 6033.
