| This photo is posted with respect to Trains Magazine editor Jim Wrinn and his family.
I had just met Jim once at the "farewell 40" photoshoot he sponsored with the Nevada
Northern RR in March 2020. It was the beginning of Covid 19 in the US and my father
had a stroke a few months before but made the long drive from Washington State to stick with me after knowing I wanted to go see the Nevada Northern for a long time. I approached the event more like a photo assignment than an enjoyable personal moment, but it struck me I was being particularly observed by someone with a keen read of those with the railfan mind.
I waited for some action near the bunkhouse and Jim came all the way over from the depot, the moment was like two hunters realizing we weren't the only ones out there literally and figuratively still and always driven for the moment the ferroequines dance. Thank you for the great memory and your helmsmanship of Trains. To Jim. |
