The Wengernalpbahn (WAB, part of Jungfraubahnen Holding) ordered 3 four-axle electric cogwheel locomotives from StadlerRail and additionally a diesel engine/generator that can be inserted into one of the locomotives if required. Therefore the locomotives for 80 cm gauge and the Abt cogwheel system have the designation He(m) 4/4 # 41 to # 43. The first locomotive was delivered in February 2022 and on April 4, the second locomotive # 42 was delivered by the company Emil Egger on a low loader to Lauterbrunnen and unloaded. About an hour after the arrival of the special transport, the locomotive already drove under its own power to the depot. 2 locomotives will be used for a future "Wengen Shuttle" with two lowfloor cars each in peak times, the third is for infrastructure purposes. All 3 will be used in freight service also. # 42 is slowly rolling down to the 80 cm track, held back by a steel cable with a winch.
