Softly burbling on the still night of August 29, 1987, is Escanaba & Lake Superior Baldwin RS12 No. 300 on the lead of a chartered passenger train at Howard, near Green Bay, Wisconsin. Dressed in Great Northern-Inspired colors, the shiny Baldwin locomotive is far away from its former life as a Seaboard Air Line locomotive built in 1953.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
