On the night of May 3, 2022, former New York Central Railroad 1949 Budd built Pullman obs/diner/sleeper "Babbling Brook" (WEBX 800007) sits in the Amtrak Chicago, Illinois Yard next to Siemens Amtrak ALC42 300 (Phase VI, 2021). This ALC42, the future of long distance motive power in the United States, was the first of the initial order of 75 to be delivered. Amtrak subsequently exercised its option for an additional 50, bringing the order total to 125.
