For a rather long time, the AES-17 was stored at Hualqui station, waiting for any of Biotren's UT-440 to have a technical failure, which would allow it to return to service, even if it was only for one day.
Nowadays, the EMU is no longer there, since it was transferred to Santiago for safekeeping and the area where it was usually parked was transformed into the new Biotren workshops.
