Shoved steamtrain between Stein am Rhein and Etzwilen, with 2-10-0 steamlocomotive 52 # 8055. Built in 1942 by Maschinenbau-AG Grafenstadt as 52 # 1649, is a class 52.80 locomotive that had already been modernized in the GDR (German Democratic republic) in 1962 and was rebuilt in 1998 to the latest steam technology, including light oil firing, better insulation, and roller bearings. The locomotive, then owned by Eisenbahnfreunde Zollernbahn (EFZ), was modernized from the ground up in 1997, for use in front of nostalgia trains in Switzerland, by the then SLM. For the Mittelthurgau travel agency, it was to lead trains such as the nostalgia Istanbul Orient Express. The locomotive. owned by the Dampflokomotiv- und Maschinenfabrik (DLM) in Winterthur since october 2003 was in use for pulling trains of the VES (Verein zur Erhaltung der Eisenbahnstrecke Etzwilen-Singen). The 52 # 8055 is based in Schaffhausen nowadays.
