On Fathers Day evening, I took my dad down to West Haven Station in hopes of catching Providence & Worcester train CHFP, as sometimes they run to New York on Sundays. We struck out on the freight, but I shot Amtrak regional train 139 to Washington, DC. From the comfort of the station bench, my dad watched it zoom by. My dad started his railroad career for Penn Central in 1972 and retired from Metro-North in 2009.
