| Two second hand locomotives sit at the Tyson Foods plant in Monroe, North Carolina back in 2012. Laurinburg & Southern NW2 #127 had been the plant switcher here for many years. It was initilly built as Union Railroad #555 in 1949 and sold to the Laurinburg & Southern in 1987.
Johnson Railway Service #86 was built by American Locomotive Works as an Alco S2.
Both of these units were scrapped at this spot a few months after I made this photograph. |
